Book of the Week: The Mine-O-Saur

The Mine-O-Saur by Sudipta Bardhan-Quallen

Summary: The Mine-o-saur does not like to share, does not play nicely with others, and is not a good friend.  His choices do not reward him with many friends, and he soon finds himself lonely.  Is it too late for him to change?  It is up to his friends whether he gets a second chance.

  • mutter - to quietly complain so that others cannot hear
  • snatch - to grab something quickly

  • scone - a small, sweet baked good
  • grumble - to make low, muffled sounds
  • flail - to move around wildly, especially with arms and legs
  • squeal - a loud, long, high-pitched sound

  • How did the dinosaurs feel after they left the Mine-o-saur to play with the blocks by himself?  How do you know that?
  • Why do you think the Mine-o-saur decided to share his toys?
