Book Of The Week: How I Became A Pirate



Summary: 

Jeremy Jacob is spending his day building a sand castle. He is so good at digging that Braid Beard and his crew decide to invite him along for a pirate adventure. Soon Jeremy has learning how to talk like pirate, how to eat like a pirate and why pirates all have green teeth. Fun and heart warming, this book is sure to please your clients or students age targets for 6-8 year olds but can be adapted for older students with vocabulary and question tasks.


Vocabulary:

Ahoy- a way of saying hello.
Slather- to rub a thick portion on.
Landlubber- A name to call people who are not pirates.
Hammock- a bed made of rope and hung up from a tree or on a ship
Swab- to wipe off
Treasure- term for something very valuable
