Book of the Week:The Thankful Book
Summary:
One of my favorite authors for preschool is Todd Parr and his Thankful Book is no exception. It is perfect to teach gratitude and appreciation for nonmaterial things during Thanksgiving. The book starts out with the sentence "Everyday I try to think of things I am thankful for…." and goes on to list things like shadows, gardens, pets and ears. You will love his simplicity in language and pictures to help your child or client focus on the big idea he is trying to get across. It is a truly thoughtful book that will help for your students to think about what really matters.
Story Questions:
What does Todd do everyday?
Why is he thankful for ears?
Why do you like ears?
We used a word called gratitude what does that mean?
